The beef brisket rice from Chaoshan Junji is a set meal I often order—a stable repeat purchase. Their beef brisket rice plus 3 beef balls soup costs just over 24 yuan, which is really good value.
The beef brisket is fresh, stewed until soft and not dry. Mixed with their braised vegetables and pickled cabbage, it’s flavorful and not greasy. Honestly, I think this flavor profile is better than many Taiwanese braised pork rice dishes and more suitable for everyday eating.
Paired with a bowl of beef ball soup, light and refreshing, the whole set is quite filling and satisfying.
