This Yinggu Pig Offal Congee had been sitting in my bookmarks for a long time. This time, I finally drove over 40 kilometers with a friend to come here. When we arrived, it was really popular—there was even a queue. We waited about 30 minutes in total, but smelling the congee aroma gave me some confidence.
We ordered seven or eight kinds of pig offal to cook in the pot. Overall, the freshness was on point, and the congee base was smooth and silky. Personally, I was pleasantly surprised by the aorta, pig tongue, diaphragm meat, tendon, and ribs—they were clean, had no gamey smell, and had great texture. It’s understandable why so many people make a special trip to eat here.
But I have to be honest: the service couldn’t keep up with the popularity. The server who helped us cook forgot to continue cooking midway, and we had to remind them to continue. That slightly deducted from the experience. If they could smooth out the service process, it would be perfect.
Overall, the taste is worth the trip, but the service has room for improvement. I hope it’ll be smoother next time.
