During the Chinese New Year, I brought friends to this Xiangjiang Hotel. It was indeed “packed with people,” and we waited in line for nearly 100 minutes—almost two hours—before being seated. The festive atmosphere was definitely at its peak.
However, the overall experience was mediocre. Due to the huge crowd, there was hardly any service; it was basically self-service. After all the dishes were served, the taste was just average—homestyle cooking with no particularly impressive signature highlights. As a time-honored brand, it relies more on nostalgia.
If you specifically want to visit an old restaurant and experience the lively holiday atmosphere, it’s understandable. But if you’re looking for amazing taste or high-quality service, you may need to lower your expectations.
