Review

This Sichuan restaurant is really hard to find. I tried looking for it once before based on the Dianping location, but I couldn’t find it. Today, I happened to pass by and suddenly saw it—it’s hidden in a very narrow alley, and if you don’t look carefully, you’ll miss it.

The shop has probably been open for a long time. The environment is quite ordinary, with no special decoration—just that kind of street-side shop feel. Today I felt like eating something spicy, so I went in to try it.

I ordered a boiled fish for 38 yuan. I think the price is reasonable for Yuqi Street, and the portion was quite generous—there were plenty of fish slices. The fish was tender and not dry, and the flavor was the typical Sichuan spicy and numbing style. The broth was quite rich, making it a good match with rice.

Of course, it’s not mind-blowing, but as a nearby option for Sichuan food, I think it’s fine. The price is not expensive, the taste is consistent, and it offers good value for money. With such fierce competition in the restaurant scene on Yuqi Street, there must be a reason a shop can stay open this long.

There used to be another restaurant nearby called Fushun Tofu Pudding, which I also liked. But after it moved across the street, I felt the taste wasn’t as good as before. Sometimes, eating out is a matter of fate. It’s not easy for an old shop to keep going.

Overall, if you happen to be near Yuqi Street and want some boiled fish or Sichuan food, you can give it a try. But the location is really inconspicuous, so first-timers might need to pay extra attention.
