Hailing Island Mangrove National Wetland Park「海陵岛红树林国家湿地公园」

Review

Today we spent some time on the beach at Hailing Island. Around 4:30 PM, we took a detour to the Mangrove Wetland Park.

This attraction requires a ticket—about 25 yuan per person, plus 10 yuan for parking. At first, I was hesitant about going in, but my friend said, “Since we’re already here, let’s check it out.”

Once inside, I found the place quite interesting. The entire park is built on a large tidal flat covered with mangroves. Mangroves are a unique type of plant that can grow in this saline-alkaline tidal environment, and they look quite vibrant.

The main feature of the park is a long boardwalk, probably over a kilometer long, that stretches all the way to Laoshushan (Mouse Mountain). Coming here in the afternoon was quite pleasant—there weren’t many people, and walking on the boardwalk with tidal flats and mangroves on both sides, with the sea breeze blowing, it wasn’t too hot.

Along the way, we saw many local fishermen collecting shells and catching crabs on the tidal flats. They would then sell their catch by the boardwalk. This scene felt very lively and authentic. It seems that this place is part of daily life for locals, while for tourists, it’s a paid attraction.

Overall, the 25-yuan ticket isn’t particularly cheap, but it’s not a rip-off either. This isn’t a spectacular major attraction; it’s more suitable for a leisurely stroll, enjoying the breeze, and observing the tidal flats and mangroves. If you have time, it’s worth a visit.

I’d give it an 80 out of 100.
