Recently, while passing by Xincun Avenue, I noticed a newly opened fuse bead shop. It looked interesting, so I went in to try it out.
In the past, crafts like weaving and cream glue were popular, but now fuse beads are gaining traction. My daughter has been playing with them lately, so I took the chance to learn more. Fuse beads are basically small plastic beads of various colors that you arrange on a template and then iron to set, creating different patterns. The finished product gives a real sense of accomplishment.
I checked the price: less than 10 yuan per hour, which is great value. It’s summer vacation now, and the shop was almost full, with many parents bringing their kids. Spending ten yuan to sit quietly in an air-conditioned room for an hour and make your own little creation feels totally worth it.
Nowadays, everyone is looking for high-value consumption, and this kind of experiential entertainment is becoming more popular. It trains patience and focus, and keeps kids away from phones and games—a good way to cultivate interests. Of course, fuse beads can be hard on the eyes, so take breaks if you play for long.
