Today I visited Chikan Ancient Town. By the time we wandered around, it was past 1 PM and we were hungry. We randomly chose this restaurant to sit down and grab a bite.
Looking at the menu, the prices weren’t cheap—mid-to-high range—but since it’s inside a tourist attraction, it’s understandable. We ordered shredded pork with pickled mustard greens noodles, roasted goose with preserved vegetable noodles, and a serving of radish beef offal. The total came to 126 yuan.
The shredded pork noodles and roasted goose noodles were average—nothing spectacular but not bad either. The radish beef offal, however, was quite good. The radish was soft and tender, with a nice sweetness, and well-infused with flavor. The offal tasted fresh, and the overall flavor was fragrant without being too heavy, making it quite refreshing.
If you’re tired from walking around the ancient town and want a quick bite, this place is an option. The noodles are just okay, but the radish beef offal is worth ordering. For two people in a scenic area, 126 yuan is acceptable overall.
