Today, after finishing my business at Shanghai Bank in Shenzhen, I found this Zhongshan family cuisine restaurant nearby. It was quite busy during meal time, and I waited about 40 minutes to get a seat, which shows the business is indeed good.
I ordered their signature crispy meatballs with sand ginger—they were chewy with a prominent sand ginger flavor. The freshwater prawns were decent in size and freshness, cooked in a homestyle way. The restaurant also gave us two small appetizers, which was a nice little bonus.
Overall, it was an average performance—nothing particularly impressive, but not disappointing either. It was a solid meal. If you happen to be nearby for business or want some homestyle Cantonese food, it’s worth considering.
