The other day, I went to Hualin Temple for some business and stumbled upon this Xinjiang restaurant on the way, so I decided to give it a try. I ordered their lamb chops and hand-grabbed rice (polo), and the overall experience was quite a pleasant surprise. Especially the hand-grabbed rice, which was very aromatic and appetizing as soon as it was served. The rice grains were distinct yet slightly soft and sticky, oily but not greasy, and the more I ate, the more flavorful it became. The portion was also generous. If I hadn’t been so full, I would have ordered another serving.

The lamb chops were also good, with tender meat and not too strong a gamey flavor. The seasoning was quite authentic, capturing the boldness of Xinjiang cuisine. Overall, the food at this restaurant is quite authentic, without too many modifications, preserving the original flavors. If you happen to be nearby and want to try something different, this Xinjiang restaurant is definitely worth recommending.
