Maibo Cinema (Foshan Jinbo Center)「脉铂影城(佛山金铂中心店)」

Review

Recently, I came across a movie called “A Love Letter to Mom” on ** and was instantly intrigued. Since this nearby cinema has a nice environment, I drove over to watch it.

First, about the cinema: it’s newly opened, with a comfortable environment, good seating, lighting, and cleanliness. The best part is free parking for 2-4 hours, which is really convenient for drivers.

Now, the movie. “A Love Letter to Mom” tells the story of a Teochew overseas Chinese. It’s mostly in Teochew dialect, which feels very authentic. It doesn’t have overly sentimental grand scenes, but many details are so real and touching. The emotions about family, wandering, longing, and guilt slowly seep into your heart.

Honestly, I was in tears by the end.

The pacing is simple, but that simplicity makes it more genuine. Especially if you’re Teochew or have left your hometown to work, you’ll easily empathize.

Overall, it’s a movie worth watching. The cinema is nice too, and I’ll probably come again.
