Mianhu Town「棉湖镇」

Review

I only learned about this place because of the movie “Love Letter to Grandma” and came specifically to check it out.

It is actually a small town in Jiexi, most notable for its about one-kilometer-long arcade street. Various old shops are scattered along both sides of the street. Walking slowly and browsing, it has a strong sense of life. Next to the arcade street is a very vintage blacksmith street, and the Xie Nanzhi Hotel featured in the movie is also nearby. Fans of the movie will definitely feel immersed.

This is a relatively niche attraction. If not for the movie, many people probably wouldn’t know about it. But when you actually come here, you’ll find it lacks the hustle and bustle of popular scenic spots, instead preserving the most authentic and simple local atmosphere of Chaoshan’s old streets. It’s perfect for strolling at a leisurely pace, taking photos, and experiencing the local culture.

If you like to find small places with few tourists and stories, this place is worth a special trip to walk around and see.
